Isle of Man Government is seeking to appoint two Non-Executive Directors (NEDs) to contribute to the broad and diverse work of the Cabinet Office.
NEDs act as a critical friend to Government and support and promote good governance and improved delivery by providing an informed independent perspective, professional scrutiny and external oversight.
Evaluating practices and processes, they will offer constructive challenge and strategic advice to Ministers and Senior Officers.
The NEDs will sit on the Cabinet Office Board. A key part of their remit will be to monitor delivery of the Cabinet Office Department Plan. They will contribute to the Operational Performance Board, a central point of oversight for performance and delivery across Government.
The appointments are for 3 years with an option to renew for up to a further 2 years. NEDs will receive a £2,000 per annum retainer and an hourly rate of £80 for attendance and preparation for meetings, which is subject to a cap of £8,000 per annum.
Candidates should have a genuine interest in serving the Isle of Man, and be able to convert external expertise and practices in a public sector context - seeing issues in a broad perspective to help Government achieve its strategic priorities.
